In the Beginning..............

Let's start at the very beginning, a very good place to start.....

O.K., I'll try not to quote from a musical every time I start a post, but it's the theatrical blood in me. I'm going to backtrack a little so that you can get the full story, seeing that it really begins in May, and here it is almost the end of June.

Well, back towards the end of May, my mom got an e-mail from some friends that we go to church with, who said that friends that they had previously gone to tutorial with were going to be making a movie this summer and were holding auditions next week. and, knowing how I love to act, would we like for their e-mail so that we could get more information? Mom and I both said "Sure", and went to auditions the next week, though not without a little prodding from my mom. You see, I've never really done a movie before and have only ever auditioned for plays and musicals, so I didn't really know quite what to expect. I'm going to admit right up front that I am afflicted with perfectionism, and what's more it has to be perfect perfection, so I don't always like to be in a situation where I know very little or nothing at all. Deficiency's in my character. Anyway, There's this family called the Jarmans who have recently started their own movie company called Star Breather Studios. The movie that they're making right now is called Home-Schooled, and it's about this family in Tennessee - the Hayes family - who's right to home school is taken away. The parent's send their children - 3 daughters and 1 son - up to Canada to be schooled by their grandparents, while the parents stay to try and fight the law that makes homeschooling illegal. Mom is playing the almost main role of Mrs. Hayes, and I'm her oldest daughter, Hannah.

The Jarmans are going to submit the film to SAICFF, and Mom and I are thinking that if it becomes a finalist, we might go down for the festival as a family.

So now we're printing out scripts and shooting schedules, highlighting parts, slapping them into 3-ring binders, sharpening pencils, assessing wardrobes (we get to use most of our own clothes - yay!), and buying stock in the post-it notes company. Well, maybe not that last part, but we did stock up : ) I'm going to try and blog this whole thing, and I'll put some pic's on as soon as I figure out how to do it! So keep checking back
